smag® – "magnetic system"

The smag® magnetic system was developed by badgepoint® engineers in cooperation with various customers and specialists. It is specially conceived for use as name tags. By carefully listening to our customers' requests, we have been able to develop a patented magnetic system that has been used in more than 10 million badges to a high degree of satisfaction. smag® is available with various accessories for a wide range of applications.

The new version of the smag® magnetic system is in all versions a high-tech product "Made in Germany". The new features enable even more convenient handling of the magnetic system and are characterized by even higher badgepoint® quality.

Product features

  • smag® "standard" (= blue): high adhesion (suitable for all textiles)
  • smag® "extra" (= black): extreme adhesion (for heavy textiles)
  • additional functions:
"twist-proof" (also for "extra" version )
"easy-lift" (new shape with projection for easier lifting)
  • kind to clothes (will not pierce)
  • twist-proof because of new type of shape (badgepoint® patent))
  • skin-friendly because of synthetic case
  • low radiation ("standard" and "extra")
  • available as single unit or in a set
  • direct from the manufacturer and patentee
  • modules for retrofitting of name tags available
  • all components as spares available
  • smag® magnetic systems are made in Germany

All magnetic systems are also available in the "self-adhesive" version with tape for retrofi tting existing name tags

All smag® magnets are now even more user-friendly in their new form.
The "easylift" function makes it easier to lift off the strong magnet.

Are magnetic clips for name badges harmless?

Carrying small permanent magnets near the body, for instance as magnet clips for name tags, is generally harmless. These applications represent a very locally limited exposure to weak static magnetic fields. When such magnet clips are used normally, the known biological thresholds are in no way reached. However, interference to some heart pacemakers by small magnetic fi elds cannot be ruled out. From around 1 mT magnetic flux density, interference to, say, magnetic cards, credit cards and watches is also conceivable. We do not, therefore, recommend that name tags be worn right over implanted heart pacemakers nor that sensitive magnetic cards be kept in jacket pockets.
